Grant Schneider, the Defense Intelligence Agency's chief information officer, isn't just worried about the Defense Department or even his agency's technology.

Grant Schneider, the Defense Intelligence Agency's chief information officer, isn't just worried about the Defense Department or even his agency's technology. He his responsibilities are as broad as they are wide.

Schneider oversees the underlying technology infrastructure to make collection, analysis and dissemination of data easier for the entire intelligence community. At the same time, Schneider also ensures access to and engineers the top secret Intranet for DoD and the intelligence community.

So when Schneider talks about his priorities, he focuses on three main areas: support to the warfighter, especially with the current surge in Afghanistan; continue to develop tools to promote information sharing, including J-Space, an online collaboration sharing space for human resources, financial management and other back office functions; and the third area is internally focused to figure out how to provide the best support to DIA customers.

And of course, he says the impending SITE request for proposal is near the top of all priority lists. Schneider promises the RFP will be out by the end of May.
